FUN KIDS RECIPESHere you will find a collection of fun kids recipes that you can use to enhance your learning activities. I will continue to add to this collection so don't forget to check back often! Play Dough Recipe
Half a cup of salt
One cup of flour
Two teaspoons of cream of tartar
One tablespoon of oil
One cup of water
Food colouring
Mix the ingredients in a saucepan over a low heat and stir until a solid ball is formed. The texture should be such that when you roll a small piece between your fingers (be careful, as it is HOT!) it should be able to form a ball. If it sticks to your fingers, stir for a little longer. I have tried many recipes, but this one really is fabulous and if you store it in an airtight container or a plastic bag. (Ziploc bags work really well) It lasts a long time too. *NEW* No Cook Play Dough Recipe
A friend shared this wonderful recipe which is quick and easy too!
Mix together: 2 cups plain flour 1 cup salt 2 tablespoons cream of tartar 2 tablespoons oil Add 2 cups of boiling water and food colouring and mix. Once combined knead until a smooth ball. *You may want to wear rubber gloves as it is a little warm to start. Keep stored in airtight container. "I find it's great for a quick no mess way of making playdough." Joanne
Cornflour Finger Paint Recipe
2 tablespoons of cornflour
1 cup of cold water
Mix enough water wtih the 2 tablespoons of cornflour till it forms a paste with a thickish custard consistency. Ass one cup of water to the saucepan and cook it on the stove, stirring consistently until it reaches a thickish consistency. Divide it up into a few little plastic containers and add food colouring, or paint of your choice to each. TIP: Add a little dish washing liquid to each container too- it seems to keep the colours from staining little or not so little fingers!
