GRATITUDE JOURNALI used the principle of a gratitude journal with my children a while back when we noticed that we needed to work on being thankful and content. "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ![]() I just got a couple of spiral bound blank notebooks, some old magazines and stickers and then explained to them what we were going to do. We sat and talked about the importance of being content and read a few Scriptures about contentment and being thankful and talked about what that means. On the first day we used magazines to find things we could be thankful for and made a collage type of page which they also shared with Dad at the dinner table that evening. As the week progressed, we used stickers, magazines and also drew pictures of the things we were thankful for.

I also drew a column on the side of each page and they had to think of one person each day that they would like to pray for and draw them in the column. We shared as well why we were thankful that God had brought that person into our lives. It was wonderful to see what was going on in their hearts and the fruit of thankfulness in their lives and mine!
