Salt Dough Maps

RECIPE

This is the basic recipe, however, we normally make at least 2 to 3 times this amount, to make sure we have enough, depending on what we are making, so take that into account.

Also, if you like, you can add food colouring to the dough, and make a few separate batches for land, water, landmarks or whatever else you may want to add.

1 cup salt
1 cup plain flour
water

Basically, mix equal parts of salt and flour, and keep adding small amounts of water until you have a good consistency.

Using a suitable map of whatever you are going to make, outline the map on a piece of cardboard. We placed the map underneath some wax paper, traced it onto the wax paper and then put that onto a piece of hard board or cardboard..

When it is dry, paint it.
